COURIER

COURIER

Real Name: Jacob Gavin, Jr.
First Appearance: Deadpool: The Circle Chase (Vol. 1) #1, August 1993

Powers: Courier is a mutant with a “photo-reflexive malleable genetic imprint”, giving him direct and absolute control over his molecular structure. This allows him to become adaptable to different phenomena, such as immunizing himself to deadly poisons or toxins. He also has broader healing abilities, allowing him to reabsorb severed pieces of his body mass on contact or, if he cannot recover the mass, reconfigure his molecules so that the missing portions of his body are regenerated. If he loses a finger or a hand, for instance, he can reform the missing part by drawing mass from his overall stature. Regenerating in this manner causes him to lose his height bit by bit, though and apparently he's shrank four inches or so over the years through regeneration.

Courier can also shape-shift, altering his physiology to change his gender or mimic the appearance of other people. This cannot be accomplished instinctively as with standard metamorphs, however: He must consciously focus on reforming the various aspects of his body in order to change his appearance. This can require considerable time to properly complete as he requires time to extensively study someone's visage in order to copy them.

Courier is an accomplished negotiator and public speaker.

He time-traveled with Gambit to the late 1800s where he was captured by Mr. Sinister, who added some of Courier’s mutant cells to his own, thus giving Sinister the power of full body control too.

But by doing so, he caused Courier’s body to reset itself, leaving him with a default female form for a time.
