XORN
Real Names: Kuan-Yin Xorn and Shen Xorn
First Appearances: New X-Men Annual 2001 (Vol. 1) #1, September 2001 (Kuan-Yin); X-Men (Vol. 2) #157, July 2004 (Shen).
Powers: Kuan-Yin Xorn and Shen Xorn are twin brothers whose mutant powers manifested two days after they entered puberty. They both developed a microscopic star in the center of their brains that exist in primary states: Kuan-Yin's star manifested as a sun while Shen's star manifested as a black hole. These stars incinerated their brains and consumed the rest of their heads nearly entirely, but magnified both of their intelligence to genius-level proportions. The stars act as both their brains and as massive energy sources capable of powering nearly 10,000 super cities. They continuously give off cascading blue energy from from their head areas and don thick iron masks capable of suppressing their energies. Sources vary on just how much of their heads, skulls, and brains still physically exist, but something is still there for them to place the helmet over. Their classic senses of sight, sound, and smell have been reorganized: They see via electromagnetic wavelengths, hear by directly interpreting sound vibrations impacting on their energy fields, and smell apparently through individual molecular recognition.
Their stars produce a tremendous amount of raw energy, enough to completely disintegrate any solid matter within their immediate vicinity. Controlled releases allow them to create brilliant light or destructive force. By being sensitive to all kinds of energy operating around their stars' vicinity, the Xorns can detect living beings and the presence and intensity of electromagnetic force. Kuan-Yin has demonstrated matter/energy manipulation powers in the past, including exerting control over preexisting sources of solar plasma or electromagnetic energy, and reconstructing organic molecules to heal living beings. Both Xorns are capable of reversing their stars' natural states. Kuan-Yin can cause his star to collapse in on itself, creating a black hole in his skull which draws in all nearby light, matter, and energy in an ever-increasing radius. He can reverse this effect to re-establish a star in place of the black hole, providing he acts fast enough. Shen could cause his star to flare into a sun and was also telepathic.
