TATTOO
Real Name: Christine Cord
First Appearance: New X-Men (Vol. 1) #126, July 2002
Powers: Tattoo's mutant power could create different patterns and colors on her skin at will, causing words or symbols to dance across her face or body. She also had a form of bio-phasing ability which disrupted human neurochemistry, enabling her to reach inside someone's body and stroke their internal organs, inducing aneurysms or cardiac arrest in her victims. Whether her power applied to other kinds of phasing is unknown.
After losing her mutant powers, she became Longstrike of the New Warriors, adopting an altered version of Stilt-Man's paraphernalia. By slipping her hands and feet inside cybernetically-controlled gloves and boots, she could telescopically increase her reach and stride using mechanical extenders. Like all members of the new New Warriors, Christine had a utility belt with cartridges containing Pym Particles for reducing opponents down to size or impact webbing for quickly wrapping up and restraining felons. Her suit also generated an anti-gravity platform for flight and propulsion, and contained a "Ghost Mode" that rendered her intangible and utterly unaffected by physical assaults. Night Thrasher was able to remotely trigger the ghost circuitry, but it is unknown if he granted independent control of the ability to his teammates prior to the New Warriors' disbandment.
