Real Name: Thomas Williams

First Appearance: X-Force (Vol. 1) #129, August 2002

Powers: Mant’s mutation grants him a bipedal arthropod physiology. His body combines the physical traits of an ant and a human. He has two human-appearing legs and two arms with claw-like fingers and toes instead of normal hands and feet.

His head housed muscles that provide power to his mandibles, which were used for cutting, fighting, digging, and holding. His jaw was strong enough to crush wood and small metal items. His head also contained pupil-less compound eyes and connected the antennae. Like an ant, Mant may actually have had surprisingly poor eyesight, so the antennae may have been critical in helping him determine what was in his surroundings.

He had a stinger attached to the back of the his lower body, it’s not known if it contained formic acid to be injected into its victims or if it had any offensive capabilities.

With his physiology, it's uncertain to what extent he possessed the proportionate abilities of an ant. It's possible that he possessed superhuman strength, superhuman speed, agility, endurance, reflexes, recuperative powers, balance, coordination, and sense of equilibrium.
