BAMFS

BAMFS

First Appearance: The Uncanny X-Men (Vol. 1) #153, January 1982

Traits: Bamfs are native to the alternate reality of Earth-5311. They appear similar to Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler of Earth-616) in both appearance and powers. They are acrobatic, blue-furred, black-haired humanoids who have two fingers (and an opposable thumb), two toes, and a prehensile tail. Males have a short, miniaturized appearance with a 1’ tail, while females have a teenage girl’s build with a 2’5” tail. Both sexes can teleport via a brimstone-scented dimension by manipulating an ever-present dimensional portal that surrounds their bodies. Bamfs do not need to have seen a location prior in order to teleport there. They can teleport over greater distances than Nightcrawler without having a specific destination.

Bamfs can sense when other Bamfs are near and tend to be good-natured, but the males are lasciviously flirtatious; females generally find the males too romantically enthusiastic, so keep them at a distance. Bamfs do not use names, as “Bamfs know who they are.”

Modern Bamfs first appeared in the reality of Earth-616 after Azazel found some demon larvae in one of the realms of Hell and fed them his blood, transmogrifying them into Red Bamfs that resembled him. When Nightcrawler abandoned Heaven to fight his father, he imbued some of the Red Bamfs with his own essence, purifying them into the traditional blue Bamfs.
