First Appearance: The Uncanny X-Men (Vol. 1) #62, November 1969

Powers: Using untapped radiations in the Savage Land, the mutant named Magneto built a machine and induced artificial mutations in several of the local indigenous people there into super-powered beings known as the Savage Land Mutates (Amphibius, Barbarus, Brainchild, Equilibrius, Gaza, Lupo, and Piper).

Lupo is capable of gathering animals, particularly dogs and wolves, into a pack and psionically directing their actions using high-pitched yelps he makes as a focus for his power. Originally, he had a humanoid appearance with pointed ears, fangs, a slight covering of fur and was in contact with certain animals. Lupo further mutated into a werewolf-like creature at one point, and from then on possesses superhuman strength, agility, endurance, senses, a thick coat of fur, and razor sharp fangs and claws.
