BRAINCHILD
Real Name: Unrevealed
First Appearance: The Uncanny X-Men (Vol. 1) #62, November 1969
Powers: Using untapped radiations in the Savage Land, the mutant named Magneto built a machine and induced artificial mutations in several of the local indigenous people there into super-powered beings known as the Savage Land Mutates (Amphibius, Barbarus, Brainchild, Equilibrius, Gaza, Lupo, and Piper).
Brainchild gained both an augmented cranium and brain size, giving him enhanced cerebral and psionic powers in the process. His superhuman intelligence has allowed him to familiarize himself with various forms of advanced science, including genetic engineering, mechanics, and circuitry. Claiming that his brain weighs 27 pounds and contains billions of neurons that are capable of relaying information at MACH-1 speed, he quickly grasps new concepts and ideas, and incorporates them into his photographic storage of knowledge. Despite his childlike mentality, Brainchild has unerring accuracy. Through intuitive guesswork, he can make great leaps in any cognitive process, bringing him to the conclusion of problems at a much faster pace. He has demonstrated limited psychic abilities, such as summoning phantom images from someone's subconscious and turning them against his victim.
