KRAVEN THE HUNTER

Real Name: Sergei Kravinoff

First Appearance: The Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #15, August 1964

Powers: Sergei Kravinoff was a wealthy big game hunter who stole a Belgian Congo witchdoctor's special jungle serum which temporarily enhanced his physical abilities for a period of time, giving him superhuman strength (close to 10 tons), speed (able to sprint short distances of up to 60 miles an hour), agility, endurance, reflexes, senses, and instinctive hunting and tracking skills. Despite his advanced years, Kraven the Hunter has maintained the physical age of a 30-year-old.

He employed a number of weapons and paraphernalia, including whips, bolas, knives, spears, weighted nets, trained animals, and a number of potions cultivated from his time in the wild. Depending on the occasion, these potions could be blown like dust or administered by the scratch of a specially-coated blade or dart. He used mixtures that caused paralysis, numbing sensations, unconsciousness, hallucinations, uncontrollable quivering, anxiety, etc.

Kraven is a master hunter and wild animal tamer, proficient in certain exotic animal-like fighting techniques, and an expert in various jungle herbs and poisons. His nerve punch attack could paralyze even Spider-Man or Tigra.
