CIPHER
Real Name: Alisa Tager
First Appearance: Young X-Men (Vol. 1) #2, June 2008
Powers: Cipher's mutant ability is extra-dimensional displacement, masking her "sensory imprint" on our reality. She can become selectively undetectable in our reality by shifting the detectable aspects of her being to a pocket universe space. By diverting light and other reflecting energies, Cipher becomes invisible to the naked eye and undetectable to infrared, radar, sonar, psychic detection and probes, and so on. By diverting sound as it leaves her body, she becomes inaudible, moving completely silently. She may be capable of diverting her molecular cast-off and spoor, masking her scent as well. By partially shifting her body's mass into another dimension, Cipher can become intangible and weightless. She is able to float unaided in open space, pass through solid walls and barriers, and allow blows and attack to move harmlessly through her.
Cipher can combine her various masking effects as she chooses, becoming visible but intangible, tangible but invisible, both, neither, etc. Finally, Cipher can redirect small amounts of energy from the extra-dimensional source she taps into. This energy has a disruptive stun effect which can temporarily incapacitate her opponents.
