BOLT

BOLT

Real Name: Christopher Bradley
First Appearance: X-Men Unlimited (Vol. 1) #8, October 1995

Powers: Bolt possesses the mutant power to absorb ambient charges of static electricity in his environment and from the atmosphere. Typically, Chris’ body harmlessly expended this energy, however, he was able to store and release it for a variety of effects:

He could produce electricity within his body and generate it outwards through his skin. He could create an electrified aura that distorted his facial features and shocked anyone who came into physical contact with him. Bolt could cause his electricity to be discharged from any area of his body, but normally directed it as blasts from his hands. He could channel electrical energy through conductive material, forming protective shields or generating electric arcs. Bolt could also siphon energy from electricity-generating sources to empower himself.

Chris was extensively trained in armed and unarmed combat by Cable and was a skilled, albeit brutal, interrogator. After immersing himself in the persona and name of the mutant mercenary known as Maverick, Chris wore a suit of lightweight Kevlar body armor as well as a mask with atmospheric seals. Though he wielded a pair of conventional handguns, he favored using his powers to generate concussive force blasts.

SLAYBACK

SLAYBACK

Real Name: Gregory Terraerton
First Appearance: Deadpool: The Circle Chase (Vol. 1) #1, August 1993

Powers: Originally a baseline human with no superhuman powers, Greg Terraerton was an expatriated Australian mercenary who became a test subject of the first revival of the Weapon X Program, run through Canadian secret intelligence's Department K. Like most of the agents from that iteration of the Weapon X Program, he is apparently not a mutant. At the time, Weapon X augmented agents using methods like advanced bionics (as with Garrison Kane) or modified derivatives of Wolverine's healing factor (as with Deadpool). Terraerton became Slayback as a result of a failed attempt to combine the two enhancements.

Slayback possessed cybernetic components in place of both arms, and integrated throughout his upper torso and head. He had superhuman strength and some degree of augmented durability. He seemed to possess self-repair capabilities in his mechanical systems, and hyper-regenerative qualities in what remained of his flesh. How well these two functioned together before Deadpool killed him is unknown, but after his return they were a poor fusion at best. Slayback spent nearly ten years regenerating after an explosion and was not completely restored. His mechanics spark and jolt, peeking out through his skin along his arms and face. Although "alive" again, much of his flesh remains yellowed and decayed.

Slayback's bionic arms contain an interlocking series of panels, able to increase dimensions of length and width. Thus his arms can stretch over 30 feet in length and his hands can expand large enough to hold a full-sized man in his palm. They also contain various bladed adaptations: He can extend a single blade from one finger, or create talons from the tips of every finger, expanding with his hands. Slayback can also reconfigure his entire hand into one giant spearpoint. Slayback's decaying flesh does not grow with his bionics: his telescoping cybernetics tear out from his skin every time, leaving ribbons of dead flesh hanging off his mechanical parts. The flesh only regenerates over his cybernetic arms once they return to normal dimensions.

EPSILON RED

EPSILON RED

Real Name: Unrevealed
First Appearance: Wolverine (Vol. 2) #68, April 1993

Powers: The man who became the Epsilon Red was forcibly chosen by the Soviet Super-Soldier program to be its subject in creating a super-cosmonaut, to parallel their transformation of mutant serial killer Arkady Russovich into the super-soldier Omega Red.

His body was genetically re-engineered to survive and thrive in the vacuum of space. However, as a result, his body could no longer function in Earth's gravity and atmosphere without a containment suit. The suit was cybernetically-controlled and had four bionic and prehensile coils extending from it, equipped with what appeared to be tools to assist in engineering, maintenance in a zero-G environment, or as weapons (a saw blade, flamethrower, screwdriver, and pinchers).

He was reportedly a telepath, although later revelations of his origins indicated that it was actually his daughter, Elena, who was the telepath. His later appearances, however, indicated he also possessed that power once more.

MAVERICK

MAVERICK

Real Name: Christoph Nord
First Appearance: X-Men (Vol. 2) #5, February 1992

Powers: Maverick was born with the mutant power to absorb and disperse kinetic energy. His body is capable of harmlessly displacing any physical impact up to a certain level which struck his body, protecting him from any potential injury. As one of the original members of the Weapon X Program, Maverick was given an age-suppression factor that has kept him young and vital decades past his prime. His mutant powers went into dormancy at some point prior to the modern day, but after he was infected with the Legacy Virus, it went into remission while reactivating his powers in a new and enhanced form. Maverick was now capable not only of absorbing impact, but of re-channeling that kinetic energy as molecular activity. Each time he was struck, Maverick began storing up that finite supply of energy to be redistributed in other ways. He could project thermo-concussive blasts from his hands or stimulate increased levels of atomic motion on contact, melting solid objects. He could also channel bursts of kinetic force along his fists, dramatically increasing the impact of his blows.

After being skewered through the chest by Sabretooth, Maverick was repaired and once again altered by the Weapon X Program. It is unclear how much (if any) of his previous powers he still possesses, as none of his kinetic abilities have been referenced directly since he became Agent Zero. In any case, he gained powers and weapons designed for covert activities and especially for hunting his former teammates, Wolverine and Sabretooth. The program genetically altered his metabolism so that he no longer produces any discernable scent. He can also fire corrosive force blasts from his hands, concussion bolts that cause physical damage and also carry biological acid to his target, causing further damage to whatever the bolts strike by dissolving the material structure. This corrosive is specially-designed to counteract the effect of healing factors, accelerating its effects to compensate for regeneration.

His original battle armor supplied increased resistance to damage, self-sealing components to protect against gas, toxins, and a greater level of harm, infrared sights, wire-guided tasers, a kinetic amplifier to boost the energy supplied by impacts to his mutant powers, and storage for various explosives and tech.

As Agent Zero, he wore a special costume that refracts light waves to coat him in darkness and make him appear to vanish when in shadows, and is made of Vibranium weave that absorbs and disperses force directed against him (evidence that his own mutant powers are no longer active as of M-Day). Among the weapons he carries are an Adamantium hunting knife, grenades, plasma blasters, and projectile handguns with optional Adamantium rounds.

Maverick is a deadly hand-to-hand combatant, a precision marksman skilled in the use of almost any firearm, and an expert in both covert operations and demolitions. He also has vast experience with computers and communications equipment.

SABRETOOTH

SABRETOOTH

Real Name: Victor Creed
First Appearance: Iron Fist (Vol. 1) #14, August 1977

Powers: Sabretooth’s mutant ability is accelerated cellular regeneration. This gives him superhuman strength (class 10), speed, endurance, reflexes, resistance to physical injury and a “fast-healing factor” that allows him to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary human being. His "fast healing" ability makes him virtually immune to poisons and to most drugs. Sabretooth also has a limited immunity to the fatigue poisons generated by bodily activity; hence he has greater endurance than any ordinary human being. Sabretooth has superhumanly acute senses of sight, hearing, smell, and taste comparable to those of certain animals. For example, he can track someone by smell just as a dog or a wolf can.

Sabretooth's superhuman senses comprise a separate superhuman power of his, but they are also due in part to his power of fast cellular regeneration. Sabretooth's night vision is preternaturally sensitive, containing twice the average human being's area of light-gathering retina, and extends into the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. His hearing is extraordinarily acute, able to detect light breathing in a cave at 200 feet. His sense of taste can detect 1 part of foreign matter in 10,000. His highly developed olfactory sense and memory allow him to detect and track a scent over eight hours old (possibly a concentration of 20 parts per million) that he had not been exposed to for up to several months previously. Dilute, common odors of perspiration, perfumes, cigarettes, candies, and food are beacons to his senses.

Sabretooth possesses razor sharp claws on each finger and pointed canine teeth reinforced. His teeth and claws, with no enhancements, are strong enough to rend through substances as durable as bone. Later, Sabretooth underwent the Adamantium bonding process to make his skeleton virtually unbreakable and giving him a second set of claws, retractable Adamantium ones which extended out as a sheath over his regular ones. This Adamantium skeleton was removed from his body by Apocalypse, but the new Weapon X Program re-engineered the bonding process in his body, in addition to upgrading his strength, speed, reaction time, and healing powers to an even further degree.

Sabretooth is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, having been trained by the Foreigner, the C.I.A., and many others. He is also an extraordinary hunter and tracker.
