MS. MARVEL IV

MS. MARVEL IV

Real Name: Kamala Khan
First Appearance: Captain Marvel (Vol. 7) #14, September 2013 (Unnamed); All-New Marvel NOW! Point One (Vol. 1) #1, March 2014 (As Ms. Marvel IV)

Powers: Kamala Khan was a latent Inhuman who underwent spontaneous Terrigenesis when the mists were released over the planet by Attilan's destruction. Kamala's powers are morphogenic, making her body incredibly malleable.

A functional polymorph, Ms. Marvel can stretch, expand, and contort her body in a number of ways. She can extend her limbs to great lengths in order to increase her reach and stride. She can add or subtract mass from her body (presumably extra-dimensionally) in order to reach at least 15 feet tall or less than a few inches in height. Through disproportionate mass-shifting, she can expand her fists alone so that they strike like enlarged mallets. While Kamala cannot yet compress to a two-dimensional state like Reed Richards, she can squeeze herself through tight cracks and crevices, distorting her body with little regard to internal organs, bones, or muscle structure. The malleable nature of her body can absorb impact to some degree, but she still has a largely human vulnerability to harm.

Her powers double as a healing factor, as her polymorphic structure automatically devotes itself to resetting into her default state if she's injured. Ms. Marvel has rapidly recovered from a single gunshot wound or broken limbs in this manner. However, when her bio-energies are focused on healing, Kamala cannot use her other powers to their full extent, if at all, until the healing is done. Originally, Ms. Marvel had broader shape-changing abilities, letting her mimic the appearance of other people or transform into non-human forms like a sofa. Repeated use of her healing factor, though, has cemented her normal shape so that her morphogenic structure can no longer wildly diverge from that default form.

TRIATHLON/3-D MAN II

TRIATHLON/3-D MAN II

Real Name: Delroy Garrett, Jr.
First Appearance: Avengers (Vol. 3) #8, September 1998

Powers: Delroy Garrett, Jr. was a baseline human and former Olympic triathlete who originally possessed no superhuman abilities. He joined a spiritual movement called the Triune Understanding, founded by charismatic speaker Jonathan Tremont.

Tremont's abilities stemmed from one of three mystical shards created by group of three extra-dimensional and phenomenally powerful beings known as the Trion. He developed great powers, which became even stronger after he captured the aged 1950s super-hero known as the 3-D Man (brothers Chuck and Hal Chandler), using their Trion energies to boost his own. Tremont fed off of the 3-D Man's body, but couldn’t completely harness or usurp his energy. He later arranged a process that converted his body completely into the Trion energy and transferred it into Garrett. Deceived into thinking that the Triune Understanding had unlocked his innate superhuman potential, Garrett became both a Triune spokesperson and a costumed super-hero calling himself “Triathlon”.

As Triathlon, Delroy possessed three times the uppermost limits of peak human physical ability. He could lift (press) roughly 1.25 to 1.50 tons and run just over 100 mph, in addition to triple agility, endurance, reaction time, durability, vision, hearing, recuperative powers, etc. When channeling his body’s Trion energy into his eyes, they glow red (left eye) and green (right eye) and enable him to visually perceive and identify extraterrestrial shape-shifting Skrulls in his environment no matter how they disguise themselves.

In the final battle with the mystical threat known as the Triple-Evil, Triathlon absorbed all the Trion energy from Tremont and his brothers, and from the alien hero whose corpse and first shard were entombed in the Evil's dark pyramid. This caused Delroy and the essences of the 3-D Man to become a new Triad, possessing vast amounts of mystical power. Working in tandem as a three-fold being, they defeated the Triple-Evil and took control over its pyramid. The full range of their combined power was not revealed, especially since much of what they did could have been accomplished solely by manipulating the pyramid's powers.

Triathlon and the Chandlers existed in this state as three constantly energized and floating beings, were presumably capable of surviving in the vacuum of space, and could project, absorb, and manipulating energy in a variety of ways. They eventually split apart, with Triathlon maintaining his regular power levels and transforming the Chandlers back to their human forms. Later, Delroy took the name and mantle of the 3-D Man, and began wearing Chuck's flight visor from his old costume. This visor was originally a focus for Delroy’s ability to detect Skrulls.

Delroy Garrett, Jr. had training in the Fifty-State Initiative, granting him leadership abilities, first aid, late-saving techniques, unarmed combat, battle strategy, aquatics, marksmanship, and other skills. A talented motorcyclist, a capable pilot of Avengers supersonic Quinjets, and a skilled wielded of conventional firearms, he’s also taken acting lessons to aid in undercover work. He was also a talented and veteran track-&-field athlete who won three Olympic gold medals prior to being stripped of them for steroid usage.

VENUS

VENUS

Real Name: Unknown
First Appearance: Venus (Vol. 1) #1, August 1948

Powers: Venus is a Naiad, one of the sea sirens of myth who lured sailors onto the rocks with her song. She was cursed with a soul by the Ancient One and blocked out her early memories, taking comfort in the false identity of Venus. She is still an immortal, never aging and requiring no sustenance to survive. She can also survive indefinitely underwater and, being a sea nymph by nature, is equally at home underwater as on land. Venus has a limited shape-changing power, allowing her to alter her clothing and assume different standards of physical beauty. Primarily she uses it to change her hairstyle. Venus's very presence seemed to stimulate joy, peace, and strong sexual urges in those nearby, but it is the mystical qualities of her voice and song that can truly incapacitate others. Just speaking is enough to make most men blush, and she can increase the potency of her voice to make people completely subject to her wishes, or simply cause them to bliss-out as their libidos overwhelm them.

Her power is at least partially psionically-directed, as other people within earshot are not affected as strongly as those she's focusing on. Still, at its strongest outpouring, her song can not be aimed and overcomes everyone in range. Venus frequently sparkles with an inner light and, when addressing her song to a large group of people, is often accompanied by a giant transparent projection of herself. The effect of her power is also linked to her mood, as on the rare occasion when she is upset and cries out in sorrow or pain, people around her will experience equal emotional pain and will be overcome by memories of the greatest moment of pain in their lives.

GORILLA-MAN

GORILLA-MAN

Real Name: Kenneth Hale
First Appearance: Men's Adventures (Vol. 1) #26, March 1954

Powers: Kenneth Hale was a hunter who accidentally inherited the curse of the Gorilla-Man from the previous victim when he killed him. He became a gorilla of human intelligence, with greater-than-human strength, agility, endurance, dexterity, resilience and sense of smell. He is also immortal, in the sense that he will never age and can only be freed of the curse if someone else kills him, taking the curse upon themselves.

JIMMY WOO

JIMMY WOO

Real Name: James Woo
First Appearance: Yellow Claw (Vol. 1) #1, October 1956

Powers: Jimmy Woo is an ordinary human with no superhuman powers. He was a S.H.I.E.L.D. and FBI agent first active in the 1950s. He may have been exposed to some age-retarding potions that kept him relatively youthful over the years, but these were wearing off after an unspecified period. He suffered serious injuries once, but was reborn and rejuvenated thanks to Robert Grayson's Uranian technology and a psychic imprint of Woo's brain from their last meeting, his body and mind restored to what they were in the late 1950s.

M-11 THE HUMAN ROBOT

M-11 THE HUMAN ROBOT

Real Name: Inapplicable (M-11 design name)
First Appearance: Menace (Vol. 1) #11, May 1954

Powers: M-11 the Human Robot was originally created under the guidance of the Atlas Foundation. Artificially intelligent, its cognitive abilities and capabilities have been increased over the years since its creation by Uranian technology and the science and magic of the Atlas Foundation. It possesses at least Class 50 strength, bulletproof armored casing, and hosts a sorcerous enchantment which allows it to completely reconstruct itself even after being reduced to scrap metal. Its arms and legs are made of telescoping metal links, enabling it to greatly increase his reach or wrap its limbs around a target several times, holding them firm or applying constrictive pressure. M-11 also contains circuitry for remote broadcasting and receiving, allowing it to transmit audio and video signals anywhere in the world and similarly access all computer systems across the planet, whether their files are open or protected behind the strictest firewalls.

Holographic circuitry in its chest also enables it to project its own recorded memories, or any other audio-visual information it has accessed from other sources. For defensive purposes, M-11 is able to cast energy shields either as a flat plane in the path of an attack or as a dome like projection over itself and allies. Offensively, it is capable of re-channeling electrical current, but for sheer destructive purposes it can project a disintegration beam from its optic sensor, which produces variable levels of concentrated heat from a slight and gradual warming to total vaporization.

NAMORA

NAMORA

Real Name: Aquaria Nautica Neptunia
First Appearance: Marvel Mystery Comics (Vol. 1) #82, May 1947

Powers: Namora, originally named Lady Aquaria Nautica Neptunia, is the cousin of Namor and a Sub-Mariner in her own right. Like her cousin, Namora was also born a Homo Sapiens Superior (mutant) hybrid of Homo Sapiens (human) and Homo Sapiens Mermanus (Atlantean) genes. As a result, this grants her abilities far greater then any one of her pure genetic blood lines.

Also, Namor and Namora are not blood related. Her Atlantean father was an adopted member of the royal family, and so she and Namor do not share family genetics.

Her strength level is around Class 50-70, in addition to superhuman swimming speed, agility, endurance, reflexes, vision, and durability. Naturally she is also amphibious, able to breathe on land or underwater. Namora did not originally possess ankle wings allowing her to fly, though a geneticist suggested once she had the latent ability to manifest these wings. They have apparently done so now that she has emerged from her comatose state.

AGENTS OF ATLAS

AGENTS OF ATLAS

Roster: Gorilla-Man, M-11 the Human Robot, Namora, Marvel Boy/Uranian (Robert Grayson), Venus, Jimmy Woo, and 3-D Man II

First Appearance: Agents of Atlas (Vol. 1) #1, October 2006

Brief History: A superhero team formed by the United States federal government in 1958* and brought back together by their leader Jimmy Woo nearly 40 years later, the Agents of Atlas are a team of misfits dedicated to using the resources of an evil empire to bring about good.

*The Agents of Atlas are the current incarnation of various characters originally owned by Atlas Comics, one of the companies which merged to become Marvel Comics in the early 1960s. Largely abandoned when Marvel Comics began, the Atlas characters were revisited in ”What If..?" (Vol. 1) #9, June 1978 that teamed them with the first 3-D Man, a retcon character created in the 1970s but active in the 1950s, as a 1950's team of Avengers. Unlike most "What If..?" stories, the issue left open the suggestion that this team had actually existed in secret in the main 616 Marvel Universe. However, at least one version of the group was wiped from existence during the “Avengers Forever” 12-issue series. The Agents of Atlas series established the modern and official version of the team, sans the original 3-D Man, active briefly in 1958-59 as "The G-Men" and regrouped decades later in the present as Agents of the Atlas Foundation. The limited series also managed to retcon the history and status of every single member.
