BANDIT/NIGHT THRASHER II

BANDIT

Real Name: Donyell Taylor
First Appearance: Night Thrasher (Vol. 1) #3, October 1993 (as Bandit); New Warriors (Vol. 4) #1, August 2007 (As Night Thrasher II)

Powers: Bandit possesses a pseudo-mystical mutant ability derived from the prophecy of the Pact of the Dragons' Breadth. He is capable of generating a bio-electrical current through his body and channeling it through conductive mediums. Thus, he used a wrist-mounted crossbow which fired wire-guided bolts, which he electrified after they hit and pierced into their targets. Bandit has also employed bola loops as a conduit for his power.

As Night Thrasher II, Donyell wears a full body armor patterned after his brother's. He has a photonic generator in his forearm which creates a badge shaped shield for protection, and uses a pair of solid energy photonic truncheons as well. Like all members of the new New Warriors, Night Thrasher II had a utility belt with cartridges containing Pym Particles for reducing opponents down to size or impact webbing for quickly wrapping up and restraining felons. His suit can also generate an anti-gravity platform for flight and propulsion, and contains a Ghost-Mode that renders him intangible and utterly unaffected by physical assaults.

Donyell Taylor is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, combining expertise in numerous unspecified fighting techniques with exemplary acrobatic skills, allowing him to defeat groups of single-handedly. An accomplished marksman and tactician, he has great business acumen, a natural affinity for education in engineering, robotics, and technical design, and a great aptitude for state-of-the-art computer technology. He is also a competent pilot.

SILHOUETTE

SILHOUETTE

Real Name: Silhouette Chord
First Appearance: The New Warriors (Vol. 1) #2, August 1990

Powers: Silhouette is one of the Children of the Pact, the prophesied offspring of a meeting of men from the west and women from the Temple of the Dragon's Breadth in Kampuchea. Her grandmother, Tai, was the instigator of the Pact. Silhouette has enhanced levels of strength, agility, endurance, and reflexes, which still enable her to be an effective melee combatant despite her crippled legs. She is a shadow teleporter, able to instantly travel from one patch of darkness to another by using shadows to melt into and out of the Darkforce Dimension. She can transport herself, living beings, and matter composed of unstable molecules in this manner. Sometime after first learning of her powers, Silhouette began experimenting with drawing Darkforce into our dimension as opposed to sending herself into its dimension. By merging with the Darkforce here on Earth, Silhouette was able to fly as a semi-tangible living shadow, and could potentially animate her legs again. She also began using her power offensively, reaching into one patch of shadow and out of the darkness inside the human body, grabbing at and possibly removing someone's organs with one yank.

Silhouette wears a special set of crutches designed for her by Night Thrasher and the Taylor Foundation. They were equipped with a taser charge that electrified her opponents on contact, a retractable needle on each tip which administered an anesthetic drug, and smoke pellets to confuse her opponents and create greater areas of darkness for her to make use of.

NIGHT THRASHER

NIGHT THRASHER

Real Name: Dwayne Michael Taylor
First Appearance: The Mighty Thor (Vol. 1) #411, December 1989

Powers: Night Thrasher has the natural ability of psionic protection, a scrambling factor which renders his mind very difficult to detect or probe for telepaths.

As a crime fighter, he is highly trained in various forms of armed and unarmed combat. Initially using only a pair of escrima sticks, he decided to have an entire body armor built for himself in case of superhuman threats. His armor could shield him from point blank machine gun fire and came equipped with hydraulics in the legs enabling him to leap greater heights and distances than a normal person. His helmet is outfitted with a voice scrambler, megaphone, telescopics, night vision, internal oxygen supply, recording tapes, and an ultrasonic hearing system. Each wrist assembly had a retractable shiv blade, in addition to an extendible Adamantium garrotte wire and cayenne pepper spray.

Side packs on his legs stored supplies of ball bearings, spur jacks, magnesium flares, incendiary pellets, acid bombs, smoke capsules, and slap-on explosive mines. He stored a remote computer terminal, two escrima sticks, an Uzi 9mm, and his skateboard on his back. The skateboard could be used for transportation, or it could be strapped onto his forearm as a shield, and had a retractable razor edge on one end which could be used for combat. Later versions of his armor included truncheon launchers -- firing metal pitons as projectiles or wire-guided spikes to set up zip-lines for his to slide on -- and other launching mechanisms for his smoke pellets, flares, explosives, etc. He also included STS short-range missiles and chameleonic paneling letting his suit blend in to the background, such as an all white coloration for snow missions.

He is a highly capable computer hacker with an aptitude for cybernetics. He has also been extensively trained in security counteraction. He is owner and CEO of the Taylor Foundation, a billion-dollar conglomerate of charitable enterprises.
