ANGELA

ANGELA

Real Name: Aldrif Odinsdottir
First Appearance: Age of Ultron (Vol. 1) #10, August 2013

Powers: Angela is the daughter of the All-Father Odin. As a result, she is more than three times stronger than even a regular Asgardian. Her body is composed of carbon matter many times denser and heavier than a normal human being, and further enhanced magically by the power inherited from her father. Combined with the Asgardian magic inherent to her life force, she possesses Class 100 strength, superhuman endurance, and resistance to physical injury, toxins, and disease. Asgardian races also have much better vision and hearing than humans and phenomenal longevity, which can be extended into virtual immortality by occasionally eating Idunn's golden apples.

THUNDERSTRIKE

THUNDERSTRIKE

Real Name: Eric Kevin Masterson
First Appearance: The Mighty Thor (Vol. 1) #391, May 1988 (as Masterson); The Mighty Thor (Vol. 1) #408, October 1989 (merged with Thor); The Mighty Thor (Vol. 1) #432, May 1991 (as Thor II); Thunderstrike (Vol. 1) #1, June, 1993 (as Thunderstrike)

Powers: Eric Masterson was a friend of Thor's who was mortally wounded by his foe Mongoose. Thor plead for Odin to save Masterson's life, and the All-Father did so by combining Thor's godly life essence with Eric's, effectively merging them into a single being. Each man was now fully cognizant of the other's entire life, having full access to each other's memories and feelings, and even carrying the same pattern of thought between transformations. However, only one could remain corporeal at a time. Eric Masterson could trade places with Thor by striking the wooden Mjolnir cane on the ground, and Thor could perform the reverse. As decreed by Odin, Masterson was capable of transforming himself and his wooden cane into Thor and Mjolnir (and the reverse) simply by striking the cane/hammer once on a surface. The enchantment, however, held that if Mjolnir left Thor's grasp or was removed from his person for more than 60 seconds, both would revert back to their mortal states until they were reunited.

After Thor was temporarily banished from this plane of existence, Mjolnir was left in Eric's possession and he gained the power to transform himself physically into a Asgardian powerhouse body virtually identical to Thor's, through the same cane/Mjolnir stamping process. His Asgardian body was composed of carbon matter many times denser and heavier than even a normal Asgardian native. He possessed Class 100 strength, superhuman endurance, and resistance to physical injury, toxins, and disease. He was mystically rejuvenated with each transformation, with any wounds he suffered as Eric or Thor vanishing completely whenever he switched appearances. He had access to all of Thor's and Mjolnir's regular powers until the real Thor returned and claimed his hammer. Eric was given a new weapon, a mace named "Thunderstrike", a name which he also adapted as his code name.

Thunderstrike's powers were slightly different from Thor's: He could not summon or control the weather elements and was no longer as strong as Thor in his Asgardian state, with his strength level reduced to Class 50. His Thuderstrike mace was made of mystic uru metal, and given enchantments by Odin: By stamping the mace, Thunderstike could revert to his mortal human form, dressed in whatever clothes he wore in that form while the mace transformed into a wooden cane (the 60 second rule was still applicable to Masterson). By stamping the cane, Masterson transforms into his superhuman form, bearded and garbed in his Thunderstrike costume while the cane becomes a mace. By throwing the mace and gripping its strap, Thunderstike could fly, create dimensional transportation fields, and hurl the mace like a boomerang. Thunderstrike could also project mystical thunder blasts of devastating force from its face, blasts which could also be used as blinding energy flares. The mace also magically enabled him to survive the adverse conditions of outer space, including its lack of oxygen.

Eric Masterson has a graduate degree in architecture and is a highly skilled architect.

BETA RAY BILL

BETA RAY BILL

Real Name: Beta Ray Bill
First Appearance: The Mighty Thor (Vol. 1) #337, November 1983

Powers: Beta Ray Bill was an extraterrestrial being bionically engineered into his esquine-faced cyborg appearance by his people, the Korbinites, giving him near-Class 100 strength, superhuman stamina, reflexes, and durability, and the ability to survive in space.

He was granted powers virtually identical to Thor's by Odin, thanks to his uru hammer Stormbreaker. By stamping the hammer on the ground, he could transform from his Asgardian-enhanced cyborg form back into his original cyborg form (with Stormbreaker turning into a Don Blake-style cane). He also had Thor's various powers including weather control, elemental lightning blasts, flight, dimensional transportation, and enchantments on the hammer so that it could not be lifted by the unworthy and always returned to his hand after being thrown.

In recent times, Bill's spirit was fused with the body of a recently deceased human on Earth. The transformation power of Stormbreaker now shifts him back and forth between this human's body and his Beta Ray Thor form. The hammer disappears when he converts to human mode, and his reverse transformation is triggered by "miming" the act of stamping an invisible hammer as a human.

DESTROYER

DESTROYER

Real Name: Inapplicable
First Appearance: Journey into Mystery (Vol. 1) #118, July 1965

Powers: The Destroyer is an enchanted suit of armor in humanoid form which, when animated by the life force of a sentient being, exercises immense powers which make it virtually invincible. It was created over one thousand years ago by order of Odin, monarch of Asgard, to be that other-dimensional realm's ultimate, most powerful weapon to be used in the case of doomsday scenarios such as Ragnarok or the coming of a Celestial host. The Destroyer is composed of an unknown metal of Asgardian origin and was enchanted by Odin so that its metal was harder even then Adamantium or Uru and is therefore almost totally indestructible. Ordinarily, the Destroyer stands at a height of six and one-half feet and weighs 850 pounds. However, when it was animated by the combined life force of all the gods of Asgard except Thor, the Destroyer grew to a height of 2,000 feet.

The Destroyer is impenetrable and unbreakable, empowered not only by Odin but by all the Sky-Fathers of Earth's Pantheons of Gods. It has a rudimentary programming consciousness to attack and destroy, but generally has to be animated by the life force of another being who comes within arm's length of the armor. The being's physical form then falls into an enchanted stasis for as long as the Destroyer is animated. Only those with intense force of will (Odin, Thor, Loki) are capable of controlling the Destroyer's destructive impulses completely; most hosts are submerged beneath the sheer violence of the Destroyer persona, or are corrupted into carrying out violence as an extension of those impulses (Sif, Balder, a human hunter, a general, etc). Once animated, the Destroyer is all but unstoppable, possessing in excess of Class 100 strength, inexhaustible endurance, invulnerability, superhuman speed, agility, and reaction time. It is capable of self-levitation and propulsion, achieving escape velocity under it's own power. The Destroyer is capable of producing all manner of energy: Light, heat, force, electricity, magnetic fields to repel, attract, or restrain matter, nuclear ripsaws, etheric plasma, anti-matter particle beams, molecular disruptors, and so forth. It could also manipulate molecular structures, creating impenetrable crystal barriers out of atmospheric trace molecules or causing rock and stone to liquefy into loose clay. Its greatest power was the annihilation beam built into its visor, capable of total molecular disintegration.

ODIN

ODIN

Real Name: Odin
First Appearance: Journey Into Mystery (Vol. 1) #85, October 1962

Powers: All-Father Odin, the Monarch of Asgard, was the most powerful of the Asgardian gods, all long-lived and immune to conventional disease. Possessing the massive energy source called the Odinpower (or Odinforce), Odin’s physical abilities were augmented, including superhuman strength (up to Class 75), durability and regenerative powers. The Odinpower could be used to channel cosmic energies into blasts of concussive force, energy shields, flight, interdimensional teleportation (capable of teleporting the entire realm of Asgard), heal the injuries of others, cast illusions, communicate with others across dimensional planes by manifesting an image of himself, rearrange matter at the molecular level, and increase his height to over approximately 100 feet. He could also impart the Odinpower into objects, granting particular enchantments; among items he empowered were Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, Beta Ray Bill’s hammer Stormbreaker, Thunderstrike’s mace Thunderstrike, and Norvell’s hammer Crusher; Odin was also immune to the worthiness enchantment he had placed on Mjolnir to prevent its misuse and could alter the enchantments if he so wished. At regular intervals, usually occurring once per year, Odin would enter the “Odinsleep”, a coma-like state to retain mastery over the Odinpower. On occasions when he was awakened prematurely, he was left groggy and unable to access his full power. If he underwent Odinsleep for too long, his power and endurance faltered until a complete Odinsleep was performed. Odin’s power also waned if he spent to long away from Asgard.

Odin wielded a variety of Uru enchanted weapons forged by Eitri and Brokk. Odin could channel the Odinpower through his weapons, honing the energies for combat. His chief weapon was Gungnir (“The Spear of Heaven”), a three-pronged spear that only he could wield; it was enchanted to generate a guardian serpent if anyone other than Odin laid hands upon it. As a symbol of his rule, Odin bore the mace Thrudstok (“Scepter of Supremacy”) and wore the Odinring upon his finger. Odin wielded various swords (including Ravenseye) that could channel his power, placing a sword into the ground he could summon the energies of all Asgardian gods to generate blasts of energy. He possessed the Draupnir, an enchanted golden armband than duplicated itself 8 times over each morning, providing Odin with limitless wealth, and also held custody of the Oversword, an immense mystical blade that could bring about Ragnarok if removed from his sheath. To traverse into other worlds, Odin rode upon the Viking long-boat Skipbladnir, which could navigate the “sea of space” surrounding Asgard. The crew of the ship could survive in the vacuum of space without natural protection. Shipbladnir could be shrunken and carried within Odin’s fist. Odin also rode upon the 8-legged steer Sleipnir, who could run on air as well as land. Odin’s other servant animals included the ravens Muninn (“Memory”); Huginn (“Thought”) and the wolves Freki (“Ravenous”) and Geri (“Greedy”); Odin could send the creatures out as messengers to his subjects and observe most events they witnessed.

Odin is not omniscient, nor can he create life from nothingness, travel through time unaided, read thoughts, teleport himself (except inter-dimensionally) or move worlds. He is, however, the most powerful god of Earth mythology still active today. It is also worth noting that Odin and the Asgardians are traditionally bound by the cycles of Ragnarok imposed on them by They Who Sit Above in Shadow. As a result, the current Odin is not the original Odin, nor even the second. He was created 2,000 years ago at the last Ragnarok. The survivors of Ragnarok, Vili and Ve (Odin's brothers) and Vidar and Vali (Odin's sons) merged with the power of Gungnir, Odin's spear, to be reborn as the Odin of the New Age, their combined power becoming the Odinforce. This Odin recreated the Nine Worlds of Asgard, truly becoming the All-Father, and all Asgardian strength and magic flowed through him.
